The Beagle And The Rabbit

Poem Illustration
This charming sonnet playfully explores the relationship between a little beagle and its rabbit friend, capturing the innocence and joy of their backyard adventures. Through rhythmic verses and a touch of nostalgia, it reflects on the beagle's instinctual heritage while celebrating the delightful bond shared by these unlikely companions. The poem gently reminds us of the balance between nature and nurture, urging us to cherish and supervise the enchanting antics of our animal friends.
Oh, sweet beagle, rabbit, friends, so fine,
In backyard realms where playful times reside,
They leap and dash; in joy, they intertwine,
Through waving grass, together they abide.

Yet heed the beagle's ancient hunting lore,
Lest bunny's path from track be torn away.
Their friendship blooms, a joy forevermore,
Their frolics warm the heart with each display.

But cute though they appear, take care to mind,
The hunter's call within the beagle's veins.
Teach gentle play, to instincts be not blind,
Supervise their fun under the sun and rain.

For in their play, a surge of chase might rise,
Ensure sweet bunny's safety with wise eyes.
